Thanks, everyone, for all the help. I've learned a couple of things:
- The acrylic windshield I've been flying behind is beautiful and chemical resistant but would have turned into a bunch of Ginsu knives had it ever been hit by a bird, or even a small rock coming off the prop; not good. (Some interesting videos from the motorcycle community.) I'll definitely be converting to polycarbonate; not scratch resistant, not fuel resistant, but I least I'll keep my pretty face, as well as living with a much easier installation. Wish I could find a smoke or light grey in .093, but perhaps a canopy should always be clear, for max visibility. It's also much, much, cheaper. ($86 vs
- Looks like cylinder 3 may be getting hot water from a water inlet hose a little too exposed to the nearby exhaust. I'll try some heat shields.

Guy,
Tap Plastics has what they call transparent gray. They will sell a 4"X4"X1/8" sample for $2. It is a family business and have a presence in most large towns in the North State. I don't know if they are down your way.

Yeah they only have 1/8", just like Ridout. I can only find the .093 in clear. Thanks, though.
