I use E-Z heat pads. one on oil tank, one on nose case and one on the case. Made in Chetek. Nice guys. http://e-zheat.com/store/
All route to a singe 110 plug. of course I leave the hanger to heat to about 40 in winter so it never drops below zero in the hanger.
THere is oil in the cooler and I have heard anecdotes of warm engie oil and very cold oil in the lines and cooler. When cranked the preassure rises in the cooler or lines and may lead to cracks.

Been there - lived in Louisiana and Texas for about 30 years. Daughter lives in Florida.
Was in Washington State and Idaho for 7 years
Now in Green Bay for 13 years
I prefer the other advantages of the North (much less than 47% dependency rate)
