I am removing my gyros and inverters for weight savings. I have Dynon and can live without the Russian stuff. Any hints? Can I just undo canon plugs and remove? Is it worth tracing wires to remove wire bundles or just leave them alone? Thanks.

Do not chase wires. Not worth it. Many cannon plugs have jumpers in them. Just unscrew them and tie them up.

Concur on just removing the hardware and tying back the cannon plugs. Why? As time progresses it can be quite handy to have wiring and a breaker already in place to power a 28 VDC item. The inverters drew a fair amount of current, so you have future growth capability in place. In the meantime, just leave the inverter switches/breakers off.
My former Inverter wiring now powers my transponder and Mode C encoder.
Just a thought.

Hey Dan, when I bought my CJ the previous owners removed a lot of stuff but left wiring. I would start at one end where there was a canon plug. I followed that bundle till I found the other end. If the other end was also hanging free, I took that bundle out. I took a lot of wiring out this way and everything else still works. If something is connected to a working device then I'm reluctant to take it out. I noticed on some bundles they split out in a lot of directions. It's a matter of opening up the bundles and finding both unconnected ends.
