I had some sort of rubber material on my wing walk which is coming off. I stripped it off and now I need to put some kind material on it and make it non-skid. I am thinking of having it sprayed with pickup bed lining material. Has anyone done this ? What other options are there? Thanks in advance.

Rich, I did the exact same thing. I used Line-X!! My local guys did a great job. It looks great, is durable and works! There is a brush on wing walk compound available from Spruce, in
quarts. Easy to brush on and touch up when necessary.

I considered using pavers from Home Depot. Comes in all different colors

I had my wing walk sprayed with Bed Liner material, looks great but beware . When you wash the plane the wing walk will be slick.

Guys,The reinforcement directly underneath the wing walk area is greatly lacking and many aircraft wing walks are "spongy" and in need of help especially up towards the leading edge. Rather you use the stock tread, bed liner, or whatever you should first overlay the area with a piece of .050 7075-T6. You might be wise to apply your non skid to this reinforcement, then attach the reinforcement to the aircraft. This will make future "re-coating" easier and you won't have to worry about messing up your paint job or worrying about the coating sticking to the oil soaked rivet heads and skin laps.
The stock wing walk "tread" is available and in stock.

The original wing walk (CJ6/6A) is made from dead soft aluminum (likely 1100 series). Junk it and follow Doug’s advice. Doug’s choice of material is quite interesting since the 7000 series alloys are the strongest aerospace al. alloys available. That’s great but as a result they are also very susceptible to corrosion and require proper preparation and of course are by far the most expensive. 2024 T3 would also be a great choice but not cheap.
6061 T6 is quite adequate strengthwise (and corrosion resistance is better), in either .050” or .063”. With the thinner one I recommend retaining the 1 mm doubler under the leading edge of the original wing walk.
Regardless of the material choice it really is necessary to roll the leading edge to conform to the wing curvature.
The Randolph wing walk compound is excellent and is the only one I use for this purpose. Preparation is exactly the same as painting the aircraft no matter what you use if you expect it to stay on. Clean, etch, conversion coat and high quality primer.
