I don't really understand how they work,  presumably any manual input overrides them but they must be fairly strong to rotate the tube.  I guess if you disable it,  it disengages the servo and reverts to a normal feel stick.

Any recommendations as to a easiest fit set up. I dont have an EFIS I would have to fit something probably in place of my 'steam DI' which I wouldnt miss that much.

It would seem a useful device for long flights. Is it an easy standard mod?

Just fitted Eze Autopilot Wing Leveller with Gold Servo.

Works perfectly will follow Garmin 496 flight plan or selected course.

Easy fit get the loom as well.

I fitted the Trio wing leveller in concert with Ian Rickard, who installed the Tru Track, and this work then begat the EUROPA Club mod on wing levellers.

I would not be without my wing leveller especially when flying solo - it got me out of one unfortunate scrape last year and allowed me to concentrate on flying the plane.

As far as fitting is concerned it was one of the easiest mods to fit, at least in my aircraft, and with the Skymap 3c flies routes easily. 

Assuming you have not filled the space under the passenger left thigh, you have an easy accessible place for the servo and a short push rod attachment onto the aileron push rod alongside.

Two of the requirements of the mod are that you can override the force of the wing leveller and that it can be switched off and have its own c/b. Both fits have these requirements. 

The Trio is great in flight in that if I have set a flight path too close to a hotspot like a VOR I can offset my route by increments of 0.1 nm - really useful when you realise you are closer to a glider site than you should be.

You will also find that the Dynon servos can also be installed according to the mod paperwork although I cannot comment on any other kits (i.e. Garmin).

Hope this helps. I know lots of EUROPA owners have gone down the wing leveller route. Some have gone further with pitch as well.

Hi! Steve/All

I have a TruTrak Pictorial Pilot fitted in G-PTAG which functions great with

the Skyforce IIIc GPS.

I don't have pitch control since I prefer to keep that to myself!

The only bitch I have is that the Skyforce no longer "speaks" to my original

Navbox flight planning system therefore needing the route entered manually.

Probably due to using Virtual Machineware to accommodate a 64 bit lap top .



However I now, in tandem, use Sky Demon on a Mini i-pad, which runs parallel

and much more accurately than the Skyforce. Oh ! what a relief it would be

if the Sky Demon would "drive" the TruTrak too!

Mounting of the TruTrak servo was challenging as I am sure any servo in the

passenger left thigh support area would be.

Fixing the drive to the pitch control tube was also needing some ingenuity!

Also reinforcing the cut out to the passenger seating area was important.

But the whole issue is priceless especially in demanding conditions.

For what it's worth I mounted the AP servo on the existing embedded ply hardpoint (at least in the Classic) on the floor of the tunnel, where the fuel valve often sits. This connects via a slightly longer pushrod to a horn mounted on the four bolts at the aft end of the aileron torque tube (the one that runs under the seat). This arrangement circumvents the ingenuity required to fit the servo below the seat.

   Some others have, I understand, mounted the servo in the footwell, where it is vulnerable to FOD.

Its not clear to me if they come with the servo or if that's extra and purchased separately - seems like its possible to use a number of servos, but some are stepper motors.



My plane seems very sensitive in pitch - maybe that is worth considering as well as roll; is there a Mod for that?



I currently fly a course on a Nexus 7 using Skydemon software. I guess in this case I would have to set the heading for each leg on the say a Trio EZ?



Seems like all the vendors are in the USA?



Does anyone have any bits they have just never got round to fitting?



Hard to see how one would rivet in a hole under the seat unless they are all on the top few degrees!



Is a right angle drill required for the mod?

Thanks all, I have ordered a TruTrak Gemini AP as all of the trutrak equipments on the Mod 75 list are now obsolete. I like the idea of stepper motors rather than sets of gears and a DC motor and the  included Primary Flight Display gives me attitude and more which means I may even get rid of my 'steam AHI/DI if pleased with the result. It comes with both servos, roll and pitch and so I am looking at Mod 76 as well.

It seems I have to replace the transversal pitch tube CS10 that runs between the wing roots - since the plane is built I don't like the look of that, why can't I attach a bracket as per the roll tube? Or drive the main pitch tube with a rod from behind the baggage bay? I am sure I have seen a drawing of that somewhere.

I wonder if I can up issue the mod with an alternative arrangement? 

If someone else has implemented it I can reuse their mod maybe?
