Hi all
I have one of the older Yak-52s - flush riveted type. Due to a move from one registration to another, I have had to do some running around to determine the actual identity of the aircraft. In all the documents the aircraft is referred to as number 800910, which I take to be the year of manufacture (1980), the batch (09), and the sequential number within the batch (10). The data plate on the rear of the fuselage has the inscription "0910" and then the date 19-06-1980. It does not explicitly state "800910".
On investigation, it appears that this is actually the data plate for the fuselage - it has the fuselage part number 520100-00 on it.
Is there an actual aircraft data plate for these early aircraft, or did they simply adopt their numbering from the fuselage?
Thanks
Mike

Yes, they used the fuselage data plate as the aircraft serial number.
