Hey All-
attempted a start the other day and had zero fuel pressure from wobble pump and handle had no resistance like it was not "primed" at all. Removed pump and no fuel spilled from in or out fuel lines like it should have. Pump is fine so my question is has anyone ever found the check valve to cause a problem before. It is located in belly slightly left of centerline aft of the nose wheel well and there is a small hinged access panel. It is plumbed in parallel to the wobble pump and I assume is there to keep fuel from backflowing from the firewall back to the header tank. Have never touched that check valve. Possible blockage? Can I pull the check valve without draining all fuel from the aircraft? Ideas?
thanks - Hoot

I have similar symptoms if the fuel in the aircraft is low and aircraft is not parked on level ground and remains un-run for a few weeks. The primer will always draw up fuel but the wobble pump can fail to pump any pressure on the fuel gauge prior to start (which is then hard work until the engine pump stucks up fuel).
I'm assuming the check valve you mentioned is bad??
Anyone?
Looks to be a simple fix if that valve does need replacement, but would like to know if the fuel requires draining first.

Harv-
pulled both wobble pump and check valve and drained all fuel out of aircraft. Wobble Pump and stock Check valve are fine. Blew air through all lines and some fuel came out of fuel vent in the belly; I have the long-range bladder mod and somehow fuel is getting into my vent lines sometimes. Put it all back together, refilled gas and had to open gascolator on the firewall while pumping the wobble to get fuel flowing/siphoning up to the engine. All good now but need to troubleshoot why fuel is getting into my vent lines. Several times in the past I have had a small vacuum at one of the tanks that is not relieved until opening the cap at the bladder. Fuel flow and tank shutoffs worked in the past but this is concerning...I have the vent line loop with check valve in the cockpit which is supposed to prevent that I thought. Airplane is flown fairly regularly and had just flown before this latest issue. Any ideas are appreciated.

Hmm that's interesting, not sure i get any fuel coming through my vent line normally but I did once overfill the left hand tank and fuel escaped.
I was told not to shut off the main fuel firewall on/off valve under normal conditions. Is this correct or would that cause lack of prime pressure at the wobble pump if the aircraft is left for a few weeks?
TIA
