How much are you willing to pay for a 3d party guide in Anchorage area?

Try a touring service in Anchorage.  The place is full of them.  They love to see "cheechacos" (green horn, tender foot) from the Lower 48.

To change the subject more towards aviation and little airplanes, who is going to Sun and Fun, 5 through 10 April, this year?

I haven't missed Sun and Fun since the I went to my first one, the month my Ultrastar kit arrived, in March 1984.  Three months later I had made my first fixed wing flight as a solo pilot.  Never knew what adventure that little airplane would start.  While I was building the US, my dream was to fly around the hay fields and local airport.  I was to be happy doing that to satisfy my aviation cravings.  Never thought of flying cross country.  However, two weeks after I made the first flight I was on my way from Titus, Alabama, to Tallahassee, Florida, for my first "long" cross country flight, 500 sm round trip.  Two years later I flew to Miami, Florida, 1500 sm round trip in my FS.  Then my cross country flights started snow balling.

My last cross country flight was to Sun and Fun 2015, and the one before that was a flight to Monument Valley, Utah, and The Rock House, near Burns Junction, Oregon, in Sep 2014.  I was 75 at the time.  I'm considering doing another flight in the MKIII to the Rock House this year.  Don't have any specific plans yet, and it may not materialize.  Will have to wait and see how me and the airplane do between now and time to fly.  My biggest problem flying 24.0 hours in 4 days is noise.  I can tolerate the wind and turbulence pretty good, even though I don't like to, but the high noise level really wears me down flying 6.0 hours a day.  It is about time to update my WARP Drive Prop.  The old one has well over 1,000.0 hours on it.  It is 71" long.  I am going to drop to a 68" prop to try to reduce prop noise.  May even pick up a little cruise speed.  John Williamson flew with a Rotax 912uls and 68" Warp Drive Prop on his Kolbra, which performed extremely well.

Long cross country flights in a slow, noisy, small airplane, are made more doable if the pilot is in good shape mentally and physically.  I've been working on the physical side since the first of the year.  Upgrading the mental side is probably not feasible.  We'll see what falls out as the year progresses.

Have fun and fly safely,

we plan to camp some but would prefer to stay out of town and drive when we take the day trips on small ships and over night train rider we are staying with a friend in Fairbanks and a outfitter in Talketna . I'm just looking for a 3rd party guide for a week in the Anchorage aria.

I have not been able to fly to Alaska like John, still dreaming of that.
I did get a chance to ride the 11,000 miles from Phoenix AZ to Alaska and back.
It is still probably one of the nicest vacations I have ever had.

Like John did, I dry camped most of the way. There are numerous camping grounds along the Al-Can Hwy that have showers and laundry if you need that.
I prefer to camp with the bears and moose.
I did the trip in late June and it took 20 days.
