Does anyone have a source for the appropriate pneumatic tailwheel for the original Russian Yak 55 tailwheel yoke? Is a new axle required? Spacers?Has anyone used a Beringer tailwheel?

Hi John B,
My Yak 55M has the original Russian Tailwheel. I can still get the correct tire and tube for it. It works just fine. I would never change it.
Not sure if that applies to yours. Have you lost the Russian hub?
I have seen a lot of Yak 55Ms with the Scott tailwheel conversion. The Scott tailwheel changes the on ground attitude to a slightly less inclined position. That means a faster landing speed in a 3 point attitude. Alternative, it means landing tailwheel first with a rapid transfer to mains – a less smooth return to mother earth.

I have the Matco TW and have no issues with it. I also know someone that has some of the Russian pneumatic tires that might sale one. PM me if interested.
