Hi Group,
In case you wonder why i don`t give any news about the testing and
breaking in my Lightning: the GT electric CS prop is still giving me
trouble. It won`t move the blades for sh&t as soon as I am airborne. On
gnd all works fine , even under full throttle and 2600rmp I can move the
blades to coarse/low rpm/high spd, but in flight: nada! Even with power
off and 1700rpm!! A mystery!
If anyone of you has an idea what might cause this you`re welcome to
tell me . Even educated guesses are welcome.
So can`t go x-country yet - i am limited to my home airfield EDFL and
two others close by anyway tilI have some more hrs- and the airspeed
gets no higher than 110kts level flt, 2750rpm, 19MAP
Other than that she flies fine, I have 8 hours so far.
Tomorrow it`s off to MIA for another cruise with Oceania Cruises. The
tough life of a retiree! **sigh**!

Gerd, can you test the power leads to the commutator disc circuit for continuity while in flight. Maybe the in flight air flow is having an affect. Keep us posted this is a good one. CRG

GerdJust throwing this thought out there. On the ground you probably have all lights, strobes and some panel turned off, yet in air all is in use. Is your draw too much. Try
to turn off strobes while flying
