I have been tracking PBOR II and get an automated update whenever a new co-sponsor climbs aboard. Take a good look folks, and you can clearly see just WHO the obstructionist's are in our government. This Bill was introduced as a non-partisan issue by a Democrat and Republican yet for some reason the Democrats feel it needs to be a partisan issue. If you haven't contacted your representatives about this Bill yet urging the to get aboard, please do. If you have contacted them about it,,,do it again! The FAA has gotten out of control over class 3 medicals and its time to reign them in.

The problem right now is Bill Shuster (R-PA), the chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure committee, is holding everything up because he's bull-headedly refusing to give up on ATC privatization... even though pretty much everyone else that not an airline agrees this is a bad idea.
On a positive note, the 3rd class medical reform portion of the PBOR2 was just attached to a defense funding bill, that was just passed thru the armed services committee. This will be the 3rd copy of the law to be going thru the system. The first two versions passed the Senate, but Mr. Shuster has stalled them out indefinitely. Perhaps this one won't, as I don't think it has to go thru Shuster's committee. Hopefully 3rd time is a charm for 3rd class medical reform!
