Jay,
I use 1750 rpm for cruise. That's a little over 50% I think. I was getting +/- 11.5/gph but that was with an electronic ignition on a "standard" M-14. When I had my engine overhauled I had "high compression" pistons put in and right now right now with standard mags, I am getting 14.6/gph at 1750 rpm. I get an IAS of about 125 kts, - your's might be a little slower.
If you plan on using your CJ for a lot cruising - get you prop dynamically balanced at that rpm. Easier on the engine and a lot more comfortable ride.

The owners elected to remain with a standard RPM gauge instead of the Yaks percentage power gauge so this would be helpful instead of % power....
I'm sure we can do the math though!
