Does anyone have experience with repairing a compressor on the Yak55? My compressor has been intermittent for the past dozen flights, sometimes achieving 600 psi but lately only 400 psi.
I suspect the second stage is failing. Reading the manual does not shed any light on what to do. Any ideas?

How long has it been since the check valve was pulled and cleaned. You will most likely have to pull your compressor though. Check with George or Cliff Coy for a replacement.

I agree with Doc.
Also;
· Take a look at the banjo fitting at the compressor. It does gum up with cooked oil. Take it apart and clean it. Can be done without removing the compressor.
· Check the air intake filter is clean (not likely to cause the problem you describe)
· Check the valve at the snot collector below the air receiver that it is properly closed.
· There is a check valve in the line that gums up too. Take it apart and clean it.
· Check that the over pressure relief valve is closing properly. It can get gummed up and not seat properly. It's under the cockpit floor accessible through a covered opening in the fuselage.
Do your Yak 55M have a compressor unloader fitted? If not, the system gums up faster as the compressor is pumping all the time and the pressure relief valve is popping all the time.
