I just got a report card from Savvy. It compares me to all the rv10s in its database. The only issue is my oil temp is lower than 94% . How do you raise oil temperature?

Simple, depending on what time of year your in, cover a portion of the inlet to the oil cooler. In colder climates you can just about block it totally.

Alan
I installed this - it works extremely well. With it I can get a pretty exact temp on my oil.

Alan,
Install a butterfly valve on the scat tubing going to the oil cooler. I installed mine some years back when I couldn’t get the temps hot enough in winter flying. Should be stock for all the 10s unless you never leave the desert SW, but even then in winter they can have problems getting the temps up high enough.

Why not use all year round. This one is adjustable in flight. I have an alert on my EFIS if the temp goes higher than I want.
BTW, what did the Savy report cost? I might be interested in getting one.
Cheers

$129 a year
They give you as many analysis as you want -very detailed
And a report card comparing you numbers to other RV 10sm
Also they can detect a failing exhaust valve
I down load all my flights and get the full analysis a few times a year

Alan,
What is your data capture interval set to? Mine is every 5 seconds and I am wondering if that would be too long to be any good.

I am far less concerned what other RV's are doing than if the oil temps
are withing accepted range. If oil is between 180 and 220, corresponding
to OAT and type of flying, then I wouldn't waste any effort to modify
that. If you have a hard time keeping it at or above 180, then maybe the
inlet needs to be reduced. That would help CHT by forcing more air
through cylinder fins.
IIRC most -10s were having issues with high oil temps until they
switched to at least the 2006X cooler or larger. My temps with the 2006X
have run 185 to 225, most in the 195-205 range, but I have mostly flown
in 90s and triple digit OATs. Maybe I would consider the shutters in the
future, but am reluctant to run another Bowden cable through the
firewall, etc.

Phase I complete,
flying.

Make more power - cruise at a higher power setting. Cruise at Best Power, not lean of peak. Block off part of the oil cooler.
