Hey All,
Does anyone have a front canopy safety reel for sale? I don't have a part number as the part number pages are missing from the parts manual but I attached a copy of the page. I really only need the cable but will take the whole assy if anyone has one.
Thanks!

Tony,
Just curious, what's the safety reel used for? Is it a safety device for adjusting time delay for seat ejection firing after canopy departs? It's been a long time since I've looked at it but was thinking about it the other day and couldn't remember?
Cheers,
Frank

As best i can tell, it keeps the canopy from falling off if the camopy rod comes loose or is accodently not set properly. It has to be disegaged for canopy removal during condition inspections...

First, sorry for the 3 duplicate copies of the email. I entered only one but the system sent three.
That is correct. It is a steel cable with a hook that hooks to the canopy and is connected to a spring loaded retractable reel at the right rear of the front canopy and prevents the canopy from falling off if the canopy support rod has not been attached.
My first flight in an L-29, the bird did not have this safety reel and the wind caught the canopy before I could get the rod attached. I dropped the canopy on the ground. Needless to say the owner was not happy. Don't want that to happen again.
So, I would really like to replace with an original if available. If not, I guess I will try to fabricate a cable and hope I can make it work.
Thanks in advance if anyone has one.

Thank you Andrey for your help. Unfortunately, I am looking for the pages that has the actual part numbers for front canopy safety reel assembly. If you will scroll back to July 18 in this string, there's an attachment that shows the part(s) I need. It's not listed under the canopy section. The illustration shows part ref numbers that start in the 300 range.
Thanks again for your efforts.

Hi Jon,
I need the page(s) that have the actual part numbers for each of the ref numbers in the illustration. Example: ref number 381 on the illustration. What is the part number and the description of this piece?
What I really need is a copy of the original OEM parts book(s) that is complete with all the pages. What I have looks like someone pieced together pages from several different parts book
Thanks!!
Tony

Thank you Andrey for your help. Unfortunately, I am looking for the pages that has the actual part numbers for front canopy safety reel assembly. If you will scroll back to July 18 in this string, there's an attachment that shows the part(s) I need. It's not listed under the canopy section. The illustration shows part ref numbers that start in the 300 range.

Thanks again for your efforts.
