Does anyone know where I can find a red float ball I can install in the sight gauge fuel line?

Hi Martin,

Might I suggest another solution. The standard sight gauges for the water level in boilers use a background with angled black and white stripes. Due to refraction, where there is liquid the stripes are reversed which makes it very easy to see the level.

I poked around on Google Images and found one example on a steam locomotive. Simple, effective, cheap and it will work with gasoline. See below.
