Hi Byron,
Thanks a bunch for taking my call today. We are still awaiting details regarding the exact date and time of the service, but we are hoping for it to happen before Christmas, unless you let me know that you think a flyover may be doable and need more lead time. Thought I would get you the details on my grandfather and our location as I figured that might help you determine if there are pilots in the area.
My grandfather, Arthur G. Hughes, Jr., was a retired Air Force Colonel and served as a fighter pilot in WWII and the Korean War and worked in the Pentagon during Vietnam. He will be interred at Fort Sam National Cemetery in San Antonio.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you looking into this for us. My grandpa was a true hero, not just to his country, but also to me and I so want him to have the honors he deserve.
