Agreed . . . 'jeeping' a pot onto the
idler shaft is just a matter of noodling
through the mechanical tinker-toya. Given
that the sensor is a plain-jane potentiometer,
you can probably connect it directly into
the trim signal input of the EFIS assuming
that it probably expects a signal bounded
by zero and 5 volts. There may even be
a 5v output from the EFIS that can be tapped
to excite the pot.
Does your idler pulley have a bearing built
in or is it a pulley with set-screw or other
fastener designed to mount directly to a
shaft. Assuming the latter, can you acquire
one that attaches to a shaft?
