About a year ago, Earht-X provided me a sample
ETX36 li-ion battery for evaluation. Over that
time I've had it installed in a couple of system
emulations . . . I've also cranked a few cars
with it.
Cap-Checking batteries and evaluating performance
of various battery maintenance tools can be about
as exciting as watching paint dry . . . so I keep
a rudimentary set of battery-tools on a table in
my office. Just for grins, I decided to cap-check
the sample ETX36.
I've conducted a couple of charge/discharge cycles
on the battery . . . want to do a couple more yet.
I'll share results when all the data is gathered.
A couple of recharge cycles were conducted with
a Battery Tender 'wall wart' maintainer . . . a tool
that's been in my stable for at least 10 years.
After each B-T recharge, the cap-check said the
test article was good for about 10.5 Ah. As I
recall, tests on the as-received sample produced
11.5 Ah cap-checks.
Here's the recharge plot on a Battery Tender.
