I'll chime in as well.. Started out in a Kitfox 1, used it to get my
sport pilot license, as
I'm a cancer survivor, which is an automatic review on medical, and
don't want to hassle with
the MRI (now 17 years in remission but *still* an automatic review- go
figure).
Then I went to the dark side- I bought an Avid MK IV, then built an Avid
Catalina,
which I still have, but am working on an Osprey II. I do like the water
ops.
I'm not saying the avid and kitfox are much alike, but you could swap
the rudder from
a MK IV onto a kitfox 1 with minimal effort (hinges match!), and I used
the leading edge
extrusions for the kitfox on the catalina...
I prefer the digest, delivered to my mailbox daily. Not interested in
logging into a remote site
unless I have a problem that I want to research. Good to see I'm not alone!

I lusted over the Catalina long and hard before buying my Model IV back in the early '90s. Is it as fun as it looks like it should be, Jack?
Not much legally landable water here in Arizona, just Lakes Powell and Havasu, I think.

Jack, The main difference between the Avid and Kitfox that I see is with the 582 the Avid designer somehow got confused and mounted the engine upside down?
I looked at a stretched Avid project, but I have too many projects and it was 1/2 way across the country.
