Hello Europa Builders Group,
So I ended up buying kit A291. The poor thing really deserved to be built after all the sweat and tears Marty put in it and I am happy to help continue this project.
Speaking of Marty, he and his wife are the most wonderful people I have ever met. Despite the fact that I am sure Marty is sad he couldn't complete the build and he had to see a total stranger take it away, he and his wife invited me and my son to their house, gave us lunch and Marty gave me everything else he had for this kit (and tons of advice). All this with a huge smile and continuously offering to help.
I am going to make sure I keep him in the loop by posting updates and pictures of the project. And a flight once it's done for sure!!
So right now it is in my hangar and I am going through inventory. Not an easy task because I haven't been able to really find a detailed list of what's in the kit. I got the spreadsheet from a forum member but will need to see if this is really a complete inventory or a list of what someone had in their workshop during construction.
But so far I have been able to find everything I wanted to find. So I should be in good shape.
I hope I don't drive people crazy with my questions. I am an somewhat experienced composite builder (building a Cozy IV) and there are a good number of very experienced builders in my community but I love to be a part of the type forums and tend to tap a lot into the collective knowledge (after searching of course).
In terms of introduction, I am a 50ish Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical, Medical Devices) and a Pilot (ATP, CFI, A&P, with a short stint flying regional jets for American Eagle before I ran out of money and had to go back to Engineering). I live in a Fly-In community in FL and own a LongEZ and a Kolb Firestar. Used to own an old Mooney I restored before the darn thing became too expensive to keep).
So with that said, looking forward to meeting you guys through this forum and perhaps in person.
Regards,
Chris Martin

Hi Chris,
If you think it would help, I will scan the 21 pages of the original
Europa Aircraft Limited BOM for the XS monowheel kit #461 delivered in
the year 2000.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the Europa family!
We have all the BOM (including firewall forward) from our kit, A185, about 100 kits older than yours. We can make them a pdf if you wish or just make copies and snail mail them to you. Let us know.
I maintain a spreadsheet of US Canada owners. I share this information with Swift Europa, the Europa Club and Custom Flight Creations. I need to update with your information. I can pm you here on this list or email you directly, which ever you prefer. My email is butcher43 at att.net
We plan to attend the RAF fly-in at Blackwater FL April 28-30. We'd be happy to meet you there to talk Europa and give you a ride in a monowheel.

Thanks to all for the replies and good wishes. I got an extensive scanned BOM and an amazing database with lots of details on the parts (including where they are referenced in each of the manuals) from two forum members. Thanks to all that offered and I'll let you know if I need more info.
Jim and Heather, I appreciate the generous offer. I checked the Blackwater airport and its grass. The reason I am getting the Europa is because the LongEZ is not a friend of grass fields! I will check, maybe there is a hard surface airport close by and I can then get a ride to Blackwater. Will let you know.
Regards,
Chris
