I have read a lot about this but cannot find the answer I need.
The CSU arm (without stops) can turn about 250 deg and the manual says it should be set up to tern 160 deg. (The MTV website says 90 ?)
I can turn the ARM back against the spring and then all the way forward until the last bit when its floppy and seems to do nothing
The manual says to do this (with pitch lever at course) and then start at that point....ie....put lever on the shaft when its FULLY clockwise...is this correct...
this means the first 45 deg of pitch lever control seems ro do nothing...is its not pushing the spring...
Any comments or advise appreciated.

The nanchang governor is probably the same..as they have been since 1929... sternmotor etc... basically rotate the governor shaft fully CW and the arm should be about in a position that has the ball joint
In line with the top of the governor unit .. then rotate it back about 60 degrees
And that should be about the high rpm limit. Another 60 degrees CCW and that should be the low rpm limit... I think!

thank you....I will try this today....
Its interesting because looking back at historic posts there is quite a lot about this issue but nobody has really answered the question (accept you)
I guess the real question is : when the manual says turn FULLY clockwise do they mean really fully clockwise or just past the Springy bit....which leaves another 60 degrees...when its floppy....
is that floppy bit just dead space .....to be ignored....I even asked the engine guys in hungary who just said ' position it on the spline' ...Mmmm...!!

the manual for the HS6 has this in it - in the part about installing a new engine etc. the only difference might be that the RPM of the MP14 is higher so might be different angle - but it will get you close... normally one tooth on the spline is about 100 rpm ( the spline comes out of the arm to adjust this) and about 20-40 rpm for each turn of the stop bolts..
The reason I said position the ball joint with the arm in line with the top of the unit when fully CW is that is where my last one was set to ( I just changed the engine...)
by the way, the springy thing is called a 'speeder spring'; in governor parlance...
with the spring not affecting the fly weights the governor can't really govern as
the weights must be up/down against some mechanical stoo at that stage ..
but I am only theorising ...
