Hi All,

All the talk on another thread here has me thinking about our own Yak-52 here in New Zealand.

It gets a bit chilly here in Christchurch during winter with temperatures often dipping into the negatives (Celsius). We have managed to mostly get the hang of starting the thing in these temperatures, but often it takes a few goes.

A few of the guys on here have mentioned that they have engine heating pads on their aircraft. Could I please ask you to take some pictures and ether post them here or email me? I am interested in getting maybe getting some too.

Also, does anyone have a remote filter on their Yak? As an engineer I shiver at the thought of basically unfiltered oil circulating around my engine. One of the DC3's I looked after has the Air Wolf kit fitted and boy does it work! I would get one of them or maybe one of Craig Payne's ones today, but I can't find a spot suitable to mount it. Again, can someone please post or mail a picture or two?

Many thanks
Chris

Here is the installation of a remote filter on my Nanchang - I'm sorry but I forget exactly where the main part was sourced, but we fabricated the mounting plate.

Also, sorry the pictures are so big, but too hard to edit smaller!

Attached images the Oil filter installed on Australian based CJ. All the bits from Air Wolfe. They make a CJ/M14 kit.
