Good morning
Would someone be so kind as to supply me with the size and spec of the stock OEM HT ignition wires for the housai?
I am going to replace all my leads with new and will make them up in situ.
Not looking to go automotive plugs and thick dia wires tie wrapped to intake tubes at this time
Thanks

Harv,
FYI - the automotive conversion kit is designed so you can either
tie-wrap the wires OR you can reuse the stand-off clamps that are used
with the original ignition harness. The instructions with the kit gives
you the option to install it either way.

Having 1600 hours in the CJ and Yak 52 and about half that with original
wires/plugs vs. Dennis' wires/plugs (on 2 different engines) I can tell
you Dennis' wire conversion is FAR SUPERIOR to stock. The first time I
did the conversion I waiting until the wires broke down and I had
ignition problems, the second time I just purchased them on the engine.
No one that I'm aware of has ever complained about doing the conversion
after flying with it.
Up to you....

Thanks
I have nothing against the automotive conversion I just thought the large dia 8mm leads wont pull through the stock harness ring on the back of the engine?
As I have low time stock plugs and lots of new parts in the caps at the plug ends I wanted to stick with those parts for now.

You are correct. They will not pull thru the original ring. (18-5mm wires vs.. 18-8mm wires) The ring is removed during the installation of the automotive conversation kit.
If you have not pulled replacement 5 mm wires thru the original ring, you will need a lot patience. When first installed, the ring and wire assemblies are assembled "on the bench" then installed on the engine. That's why the ring splits at the top-center. The original 5mm wires are loosely laced together and then passed thru the ring halves.
