As several eagle-eyed contributors have pointed out to me, if you remove one set of sparking plugs, of course you can't turn the engine on compressed air! A foolish error and my apologies!
However I was simply making the point that the engine should be turned through a lot before allowing it to start to circulate oil widely and build up of pressure. Of course this must be done with the sparking plugs in place.
