I tried to reply early on the morning of June 6. I just found a "bounce back" notice in my Spam folder, saying that my post was to large. I will reply in two parts to keep the posts under the 7 MB limit.

I think the item linked below will work. I do have one question. This item has PCB snaps. The current unit has the holes for the snaps, as does the board, but the snaps are not installed. Besides helping to secure the connector to the board, would those snaps also ground the outer shell of the connector through the snaps? Should I remove them from the below item before installation on my board?

I need to locate and purchase a single board mount 26 location, boardmount, right angle female D-Sub connector. Mouser shows what I needas

My first two attempts to reply with photo attachments bounced back. So I've put the photos up on PostImage and will link them here.

I think the item linked below will work. I do have one question. This replacement D-Sub has PCB snaps. The current unit has the holes for the snaps, as does the board, but the snaps are not installed. Besides helping to secure the connector to the board, would those snaps also ground the outer shell of the connector through the snaps? Should I remove them from the below item before installation on my board?

The second photo shows the underside of the board, below the D-Sub. The 3 wires soldered to the board are a kludge repair done by the bozo who damaged the D-Sub.
