|

Hi All
I have just been changing the tyres on my tri gear aircraft and I have noticed that one of the main hubs has a crack in the aluminium casting.
I believe the matco part number for this is WHLW51L.
I am therfore wondering if anyone in the Europa community has a spare main wheel hub that they don’t require and they would be willing to sell?
I’m Not sure if I can just buy the hub from Europa, or if I need to buy the complete main wheel kit including disc etc.
Looking at the matco site it looks like I can just buy the the damaged wheel hub part, however I’m not sure if this would match with my existing wheel hub and thinking it will be better to just buy a complete new hub.
If anyone has a main wheel hub they wish to sell please feel free to respond to this question or email me directly.
Many thanks
Donald

Donald,
Identify your cracked part in this parts drawing:
https://static.veracart.com/matco/item_pdfs/2610/document1.pdf
Then call/email MATCO for the price/availability.
http://www.matcomfg.com/contact.html
LAS Aero seems to have some parts listed but nothing other than kits for back order.
The MATCO configuration control should ensure that the part is compatible with an older supply. They will be able to advise if you have the batch number for your build parts.
I hope the above helps.
Regards
John

Hi John
Thanks for your reply, I have identified the part and have emailed Matco last night awaiting there reply on shipping costs etc.
I have noted the same on LAS Aero and I presume Europa will be the same, however no reply from them this morning yet. I will try Karen later on this morning.
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Donald

I may have what you need; I replaced a main wheel when one of the 3 small lugs that carries the brake disk on the inner hub half cracked. If by any chance it is the outer half that you need (or indeed if you wish to have a crack (no pun intended) at welding on a new lug), it may be of use?
