I will be installing a 6AH auxillary battery due to dual Lightspeed ignitions and to keep the EFIS alive during starting. I assume that both batteries should be grounded at the same location on the firewall?

yes, but not critical. any sound airframe ground
would suffice for the small battery . . . it doesn't
supply cranking currents.
