|
|
I am new to the CJ6 , but flying it as much as I can.(already put 16 hrs in 2 weeks).
Something I noticed is when at cruise the gill shutters close themselves, is this how is meant to be?
I open them (its a bit hard to turn when at cruise) and they close again.
CHT temp is not an issue (below 200), but wanted to know if this is how it works.
The cabin air opens by itself all the time (I know is not how is meant to be) how do I make that more tight?
Lastly, do we have any sort of cabin heat? I bought the manual, and in a section it is mentioned.

Did you tighten the Tension knob (or tension lever if in the 52)? I do not know if it is a lever or is it a knurled knob on the side of the console at the lever level in the CJ. The 50 uses the knurled knob for controlling the lever tension.

I was having the same problem with mine, and it is an easy fix.
The gill control line goes through a couple of supports as it transitions from the cockpit to the gills. If the clamps around the cable are not tight, the cable sheath will move back and forth, and allow the vanes to close.
Turn the knob to full open, and then pull on the cable until the vanes are fully open. Starting at the mount closest the vanes, tighten the part that clamps around the cable. You may need to add friction material, like a strip of rubber around the tube, to have enough clamping force.
I hope that helps!
