Alternate is take the 22mm, or 7/8th long socket, cut or grind down one side at 45 degrees off the socket head, and then it will work, on cyl, # 6,, 

or wait till Doug gets some in for you,,

We have a limited quantity of these basic tool kits available at the

factory, but they aren't cheap $525 each plus shipping.

I am more than a little confused about the problem with the #6 cyl. rear 

spark having been removing and installing these regularly for about 25 

years.



I normally use the Chinese spark plug wrench for removal and my 80 year old 

P & W spark plug socket (7/8" deep)  and torque wrench for installation 

including #5 and #6 rear; they are both a pain in the ass!  The only 

difference with these is that you simply attach the socket to the plug 

before attaching the torque wrench.  These are all 3/8" drive tools, 1/2' 

may be a problem but I don't know.  I have never found a need to modify the 

socket.



Sounds simple but now it get's interesting!  Looking at the very nice photo 

George supplied I fail to see a spark plug wrench (these are Russian but no 

significant difference at all).  So time to check out the HS6A Parts Cat. 

Tools section.  See pg. 259 and on.  Fig 17 -1, Item 10 is described as a 

"spark plug spanner".  This is exactly the same tool as shown # 6 from the 

left in George's photo.  Well I'll be damned!  The real Chinese spark plug 

wrench des not apparently exist!



I have two or three of these laying around the hangar.  They sure enough are 

22mm and fit the spark plug but as a spark plug wrench they are virtually 

useless particularly for #6 rear.  In fact I have found no use for them at 

all.



My guess is the Chinese Air Force grunts agreed with me and designed a tool 

that actually works!  In which case my good buddy Doug will know all about 

this and get some in stock.  They are not really necessary but are very 

convenient for plug removal.



If my brain is in working order tomorrow I will get a photo of the non - 

existant wrench for you.

"Spanner for spark plug of cylinder no.6" is shown in my version of the IPBs on page 122 of book #3, figure 2-7.



On the web site CJ6.org it is shown in book #3, but on page 126, which means that there are at lease two maybe 3 different iterations of the CJ6 parts books out there.

We think we have the bugs worked out of the downloads on the site now, others report success in downloading the manuals.
