Hi All
Just wondering has anyone any designs for a storage dolly to keep the wings in a vertical position for the winter.
I have the aircraft stored at the moment and due to space constraints I need to keep the wings vertical and preferably easily movable.
Kind Regards
Eoin

Do you mean vertical in the sense that the wingtip is at the top and the spar is pointing at the ground?

Eoin, what has worked well for me over the years is to use a trestle (constructed out of 2x3” wood) to support the spars, clamped on to the top of the trestle with a G clamp, whilst the downward pointing leading edges are simply resting on a low (1 ft high) tressle with some durable soft material glued to its top. Eoin, I have a stand Neville Eyre used and gave to me. I have extended it for long wings.
I will send a picture direct to your email.

Hello Eion,
If it helps, my solution is shown in the attached pic
Both supports are on 4 castors and on each, one wing cut-out is deeper than the other enabling storage with both spars together or opposed to aid of the available storage space. The two supports can be 'ganged' together with the horizontal strips of wood - to improve the ease of rolling the whole lot around, but i rarely find that extra precaution to be necessary.
The wing-shaped cutouts are deliberately inclined towards each other (upper surfaces face each other) to aid stability when stood outside unattended in a light breeze e.g. whilst you are waiting to put them onto or off of, a trailer.

Another solution attached. Not as nice but it works. I didn't build the
stands.
