Has anyone tried ordering parts from Europa in the last few months?? The service I have received recently has been little short of abysmal and if there was anywhere else in the world I could order from I would.

Has anybody else struggled??

Hi Steve

Funny you should mention that - I recently wrote to David Stanbridge highlighting exactly that - over 6 months waiting for parts that largely ended up coming from LAS via Europa and the post marks indicated they had been ordered and arrived with Europa days before they were sent to me (at the end of the 6 month wait).  They hadn’t even bothered to remove the LAS packaging.
The response I got from David was.....no response, despite me making clear that this experience was the last straw for me and that I would (in the absence of any action) highlight to other Europa users that there appears to be no ‘reward’ for remaining loyal to Europa with its margin added on to LAS prices. For example, I want to buy spare hydraulic shocks for my mono - no answer after about 9 months and the simple answer appears to be that they are simply not available but Europa won’t state that publicly.
So, buyer beware. You might be lucky and the part might be in stock with Europa and might be shipped soon ish. But if you have an urgent need and the part is available elsewhere, I know what I will be doing in future.

The situation regarding lack of response is not restricted to Europa business. I have written several times to David with both positive feedback (including offers to assist with Swift and Europa developments) and some criticism of parts l received (a CS10a went back and forth a few times before l gave up). I did actually get email response from David in 2015 concerning a proposed Mod and the questionnaire he sent out earlier that year.

Karen normally replies and is helpful and cheery but there can be a significant gap in communications. In all cases Europa apply a good margin on distributed parts - it is up to the individual whether they wish to go direct (to LAS or wherever) or not. The justification for a margin should include: a) items in stock; b) fast turnaround. We have a vested interest keeping Swift/Europa in business but the service received could be more timely.

I attended the RAeS Light Aircraft Design Conference in November, David was listed as a co-presenter with the SAMAD people but l do not recall seeing him all day. Swift co-sponsored the event but the conference subject matter did not include Swift Aircraft this time.

The Swift website contains some information about David and their move to Coltishall. Perhaps they are busy closing out the conformal prototype of the new aircraft - to be flown under E-Conditions. The CGI imagined version certainly looks good - although the RAF scheme of black/yellow may not be too practical for a composite airframe. I guess high technology image and the potential to generate local jobs helped clinch the £2m-£3m they were granted not so long ago.

Hopefully David can take time to give the Europa forum an update on his intentions for continued airworthiness support, including stock of spare parts?

Must say I have had excellent service from Europa. Send them a email. They tell me if they have the parts. I pay and they come within a couple of days.
If they dont have what I need, then I just buy it somewhere else.
If you order from LAS its usally with you the next day. Maybe just order from LAS next time if you are having to wait months.

I sent a request for quote by e-mail on Saturday 8, got a response from Karen on Monday 10, placed my order, then got another e-mail saying the goods were shipped on Tuesday 11. That is an excellent service from Europa Aircraft.
Parts received this morning: 11 days for travelling from the UK to France, that's long but not Europa's fault.
The products (red silicone hoses for the XS radiator) looks great, excellent quality.
