Pulsar friends,
Installed the uAvionix ADS-B Echo UAT and SkyFx WAAS GPS this weekend.� New transponder antenna in the tail where I fitted an aluminum ground plane under the rudder control cables (fortunately able to fit a well larger than the 4" minimum recommendation) and was able to do it all via the inspection panel and fed the new transponder cable tied to the bottom of the elevator rod cut out without interference with the elevator push rod movement range. Can't get much further from the other transponder antenna (and fortunately further than recommended). Needed two people to tighten screws for the SkyFx antenna, mounted directly above the dead null RF field area of the com antenna whip. The extremely tiny Echo UAT electronics box, I tucked into the corner of the baggage compartment. There is the tiniest white LED indicator that they want visible by the pilot which I will be able to easily see.
Configuration was easy came right up with their Android app and the system ground tested A-okay. Next to do the on line register and do the certification flight.
Overall a bit simpler of an installation than I expected, especially the electrical was power and ground to UAT and SkyFx and one other wire from the UAT to SkyFx. After I hope to get the $100 rebate, I will have about $1,050 invested.
