Has anyone changed their mode C to the Stratus ESG unit? They have a cable that allows your Stratus 2S to be connected to the ESG, which powers the 2S independently. Since I have to replace my mode C anyway,
I’m entertaining the idea.

Garry, I have ordered a Stratus ESG for my CJ. As I use portable GPS for my VFR flying I don’t have a WAAS GPS source. I like the idea of it built into the transponder. Connecting the 2s is a great way to get ADSB IN. If your altitude encoder is old you might think about replacing it during the installation. Ditto for your antenna and cable. A couple of cost and time effective mods that will help ensure trouble free operation.
