GS tailwheel rudder drive mod question.

I was wondering if someone could confirm that the rudder’s drive bracket is positioned 47” from the top of the rudder to the center of the rod (i am not cutting the bottom, so the instuctions dont really apply without doing math

Hi Pete



If you put a straight edge on the tip and measure along the inside of the leading edge (next to the hinges), my rudder measures 48 inches from the straight edge to the centre of the pushrod bracket.



Similarly, if you put the bottom of the rudder on the floor and measure up the inside of the leading edge from the floor to the centre of the bracket it is 6 inches.



However, the bracket position is determined by the lower hinge position on the rudder.  If you have that in the right place as shown in Chapter 2 of the Build Manual, you should be ok.
