Has anybody installed a taxi light in the front part of a cowl? Maybe above the cowl air intake. With our taxi lights so far out on the wings there is a small area below the front of the nose which could use a bit more light.
Any thoughts on this?

I have to say that if I have to run another length of wire right now I will just blow my brains out. Sorry I can’t add more to your discussion.

Galin,
I have flown the C-172 models with both landing light configurations and I think that the one with the light on the nose is MUCH better!
If you are planning on changing it and if there’s enough space in the nose, do it!
The problem with the light on the cowling is that you have to disconnect it every time you remove the cowling, só place a connector in a well accessible place and in a very visible area so that you don’t forget to disconnect it before removing the cowling.
Best regards,
Fabricio
