Fitted a Beringer Front Wheel Kit to the RV10 a while back, nice product, I like the axle and ball race bearings they use, got the two piece wheel with the tubeless tyre. Disappointingly the valve stem they use (tubeless) fitted with an auto plastic valve cover only just misses the mounting fork, the normal aviation metal valve cover cannot be used because they stick out to far. (I’ve since modified a metal cover so it does fit) I did contact Beringer direct to see if they could supply/fit a shorter tubeless valve but they said no. Another thing that we noticed while flying formation, the front wheel slowly rotates in flight. Because the bearings are not tapered and therefore no preload the wheel rotates very freely which in itself is very good. Just wondering if others have seen the same rotation ? (and thought of a way to stop it) I think the AntiSplat version uses the same type of bearings so do they rotate in flight also ? Cheers from Western Australia[/i]
