Fellow builders.
I need a bit of advice/help.
I have a PS Engineering PDA360EX-R, which is the remote audio panel that is controlled through an EFIS.
This is a retrofit after removing an intercom. The intercom was mono and I am attempting to use the original shielded wires because of the difficulty of running new wires.
I called PS Engineering and asked if I could wire it mono. They said yes by using only the left headphone connection.
(Note: I have called them several times for information on their product, but they are very reluctant to provide support for their product. So, if you purchase any of their products, you can expect minimal support)
I have pinned only the pilot headphone and mic jacks so far, so I cannot doa full test of the intercom portion, but, so far, I do not have sidetone. I did an audio test on the AOA, AF3400s, and GTN 650. In all cases, the audio has a hollow sound as if the speaker is in a barrel. Occasionally, the audio is normal, but 95% of the time it has the hollow tone.
Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
Thanks,
Stan Sutterfield
