Thought some of you may be interested to see a snapshot of traffic right now. Not the nicest flying conditions either with temps in the 90’s and dewpoint in the 70’s.

I just watched Tim Olson’s RV-14 and 2 RV-10’s in a flight of three come in via flightradar24. We got in at 9:00 this morning and the traffic was really light, but it’s certainly picking up.

I just flew in an RV 14 with two of my friends in RV10’s and I think I saw a guy on the ground watching me.
It was busy but not unbearable. The general NOTAM procedure as other years, worked just fine.

Funny thing, right after I sent that I saw an interesting flight of three inbound from the western part of the state.  When I looked at the details it was a pair of 10’s led by a 14 that departed from Menominee and registered to you.  Very Happy

I was watching on my iPad from the house we are staying at. I saw a group of 3 over the tracks and saw your n-number.

Hopefully everyone in OSH is watching radar and getting ready to take cover.  This storm has already produced tornadoes NW of me.  Calling for possible 100mph gusts and up to 2.5 inch hail by me in Appleton!

So far so good on Field at OSH. We doubled checked the tie downs and waited out there until we were into the heart of the storm and it was all good.
There was no huge gust front, just cool changing wind that slowly ramped up. Then it turned to heavy rain.
The campground is going to be soaked all weekend so those pulling trailers be prepared to be stuck in mud like sloshkosh year. Maybe don’t bring the 2WD vehicle this year.
And be careful and courteous to your neighbors not to rut up anyone else’s site while placing your camper.
Maybe now the worst weather is behind us?

The airplane areas were good when I flew in yesterday and will probably dry out. I can’t say how they are today yet, but, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to have a small square under each wheel if you had a lot of extra space in the plane. I’m guessing the airplane areas will be bearable though. The campground is where the real issue will be.

There are alternatives. I bought last year 3 8X11 plastic
(polyethylene?) cutting boards at Walmart. IIRC under $5 each, they
don't absorb moisture, are light weight and take almost no space in the
plane. Used 3/8" plywood scraps the year before, and they were pretty
curved from moisture by the time we left.

We’re at camping site N368. That’s the second row back from the corner of Elm and Stits and the ground is swampy. The overnight heavy rain changed one driving lane’s mud hole into a pond.

Looks like it’s only going to get worse today. Maybe another inch expected.

Scholler is the same. I’m looking out at 1†of water on the ground at our site. No sign of it letting up. Saw a stuck motorhome today and I’m guessing there will be many many more. No matter what you are driving , if you come in, buy something to put under your tires to drive on. Even your 4x4 is just going to tear up the place when you tow in a trailer.
Don’t plan to stay clean this week...

I was watching on my iPad from the house we are staying at. I saw a group of 3 over the tracks and saw your n-number.

My tent is in the water. Tent pole broke and about ten gallons on the floor. Luckily very little of our stuff got wet.

My tent is in the water. Tent pole broke and about ten gallons on the floor. Luckily very little of our stuff got wet.

Flying in tomorrow. Should bring boards to put under wheels?

So far so good on Field at OSH. We doubled checked the tie downs and waited out there until we were into the heart of the storm and it was all good.
There was no huge gust front, just cool changing wind that slowly ramped up. Then it turned to heavy rain.
The campground is going to be soaked all weekend so those pulling trailers be prepared to be stuck in mud like sloshkosh year. Maybe don’t bring the 2WD vehicle this year.
And be careful and courteous to your neighbors not to rut up anyone else’s site while placing your camper.

Maybe now the worst weather is behind us?

Hopefully everyone in OSH is watching radar and getting ready to take cover. This storm has already produced tornadoes NW of me. Calling for possible 100mph gusts and up to 2.5 inch hail by me in Appleton!

I was watching on my iPad from the house we are staying at. I saw a group of 3 over the tracks and saw your n-number.

I just flew in an RV 14 with two of my friends in RV10’s and I think I saw a guy on the ground watching me.

It was busy but not unbearable. The general NOTAM procedure as other years, worked just fine.

I just watched Tim Olson’s RV-14 and 2 RV-10’s in a flight of three come in via flightradar24. We got in at 9:00 this morning and the traffic was really light, but it’s certainly picking up.

Thought some of you may be interested to see a snapshot of traffic right now. Not the nicest flying conditions either with temps in the 90’s and dewpoint in the 70’s.
