For those of you out in RV land who still have battery powered headsets like my trusty Lightspeed 3gs, you may find the following helpful.  I have completed a cheap and easy conversion to ship's power using the items below.  Contact me for details if needed.  I have the headsets power up with the master bus and my plane is equipped with emergency bypass in case of a failed master solenoid. This allows cell phone calls to still be made even if everything else on the avionics bus frys.  The entire activity is completely reversible, excepting the cable exit notch.    vanremog(at)aol.com

  You'll need one of these for each headset.  The only item used is the battery dummy pack but this particular one has the cable position of easy exit, but it needs modification to work in the Lightspeed pendant.  Pile solder on top of the positive terminal extending it to make good contact with the pendant terminal as necessary.

  This item is a pair of DC-DC converters with very stable outputs over wide input voltage.  Adjust the pots for 3V out.

  

 

  You'll need to carve a small notch in the headset pendant housing for the cable pigtail to exit.  The rest is plug and play.  Blue Skies.
