Dear Pulsar Friends,
As I was working on my Pulsar 582 build two nights ago, I was using a bright light to inspect a layup for any air bubbles. I was shocked to notice that there were a pattern of what I call voids in the sandwich material where the light shown through you could clearly see that there was nothing there but the fiberglass on both sides.
These voids are about the size of a number two pencil's eraser diameter maybe a tad smaller.
After further inspection I noticed that there was a pattern to these voids that ran in a linear fashion from the bottom joining flange to the top joining flange about 8 inches apart from row to row and approximately 4-5 inches in separation from void to void on their respective rows.
This is somewhat worrisome to me because I feel that there shouldn't be a any voids in the sandwich material especially as many as I have found.
I know that there has to be a logical explanation to this because their is a pattern to them. So far I have marked about 40 or so of these voids. I am hoping that these voids were at least filled with resin at the factory.
Can anyone tell me if they have noticed the same voids I am referring to?
The only way one could tell would be during the construction before the air frame was painted.
Perhaps Mr. Chuck would be kind enough to check his Pulsar out as his has not been painted yet? I know his is an X.P. model but it would be nice to know anyway.
Thanks in advance for any and all help and guidance received.
Sincerely,
Clyde Oyler
