Dear Europa forum members,
I am at the point where I need to finish the interior. I am looking for a light but decent looking solution.
I love the finish in my LongEZ which is all Zolatone paint and wouldn't mind having something similar. However, it is getting hard to find the color I want (tan). I also read that Zolatone doesn't hide defects on the surface well and that the surface has to be as good as possible (and our planes vacuum bagged surfaces are a bit rough so not sure what I'll get).
So I wonder if I can hear from those of you that went the Zolatone (or alternative paint) route to learn from your experience.
I also wonder if anyone used any alternative to Zolatone? I have a friend that used rattle can spatter paint found in craft stores and then clear coat it. Don't laugh, the stuff looks great and the plane is not new and the interior is holding well. But my LongEZ is almost 30 years old and that interior still looks amazing so hard to beat that example. Just want to learn more about options.
