|
|
Hi all, While flying over the weekend I experienced a fault with the inlet oil
temp reading, while in flight the oil temp in both cockpits was reading a
stable 60 degrees, after about half an hour the needle in the front cockpit started flickering erratically, I flicked the selector switch to oil outlet and the needle was at a stable 90 degrees. the temp gauge in the back is fine with
no issues.
So my question is, is there a separate inlet temp probe for each gauge? Is it likely to be a probe fault or maybe a loose wire? Also the location of the oil temp probes?
Your feedback would be appreciated

From what I recall having had this in bits before the oil temp senders for oil inlet and outlet feed both front and rear cockpits via the change over switch, so if you get good readings in the rear cockpit at all times then I suspect a wiring issue to the front gauge.

Good luck

great thanks for your feedback, I found a loose plug on one of the inlet temp probes, i am sure this would have been the fault with the intermittent flickering of the gauge, i will find out when i take it for a fly next.
