Hi Group
Curious, has anyone had a 914 UMA Differential Pressure Transducer Failure?
If so at how many hours? Did you have Transducer exposed to internal cowl temperatures or have it situated in a container under cowl with ambient airflow or perhaps located aft of Firewall?
How was failure noticed?
Thx.
Ron P.

Ron,

Never a failure. Installed on the engine side of the firewall.

15 years, 1000 hours service.

Hi Ron,

I have the UMA transducer installed on the of the airbox on my 914 (see picture). No issues in the 10 plus years it’s been installed.

Regards,
Erich

Mine failed twice, first time after 30 hours, indicating zero, replaced under warranty, then after 300hours started to give false readings, replaced with a steam gauge.
It was installed on the firewall, see attached picture. Note the engine is a 912ULS, but the UMA sensor is the same as the one for the 914, except that it is vented to the cowling atmosphere instead of the airbox.
