Guys

I am now making the final configurations of my EFIS, and one of them is the Fuel Flow.
For those of you who also have an RV-10 with Lycoming IO-540 engine and C/S prop, will you please share your fuel flow markings,

Red (lower) range 0 - x gal/h
Yellow (lower) range x - y gal/h
Green range y - z gal/h
Yellow (upper) range z - w gal/h
Red (upper) range w - t gal/h

Red Lower 0-3.5
Green 3.5-28.5
Yellow 28.5-30
Red 30

That should get you started. I have an Airflow Performance FM 300. Idle can dip below 4 and Takeoff Power can hit 28.5.

Hmm, that is awful high fuel flow for takeoff. I rarely see over 24.5 with Bendix RSA fuel injection., with stock compression and magnetos.
Pretty good rule of thumb is 9-9.5 gph per 100 hp. 27 gph at takeoff is a number usually associated with close to 300 hp.
At idle I will be under 3 gph..

Sorry, I have a Barrett Precision BPE540-X that has 9-1 pistons and cold air induction. Barrett rated it at 290 hp. A stock engine would have lower fuel flow.

The don’t have them marked at all.  Fuel flows range too much from idle to take off power and the last thing I want is an alarm or nagging yellow left flashing alert on the panel. 

It might be 2gph at idle. 25 on take off. Or anywhere in between. You eventually learn where the fuel flow needs to be and if it jives with your power setting/egt’s.
So there is no such thing as a fuel flow band in my airplane because there are far too many variables to say any band is the right band.
Now fuel pressure? That’s a different thing. When fuel pressure begins to drop, I want to know immediately.

I don't know what Phil has. I know that the mechanical pump had limits until about 5 years ago, which was 15 psi minimum, 30 psi maximum.
Later production pumps may put out more than 30 psi, perhaps as much as 35 psi. It causes a problem for type certificated aircraft where the instrument markings are airworthiness limitations and were based on Lycoming's previous production limits.
Typical, cruise pump pressure is going to be in the mid-twenties. While there are reports of the engine continuing to run okay on less than 15 psi, there are no guarantees.
