The polarisation is set up so that when the light needs to be blocked the crystals in the display are rotated at 90 degrees. My answer to the problem is to not wear polarising glasses.

Not specifically an RV10 question but, Does anyone know why it isn’t possible to have a standard that is compatible to Polaroid Sunnys ?

Not wearing polarized sunglasses has pretty much been the “rule” since glass panels came in to existence back in the 80’s.

For a few years I’ve kept good quality non-polarized glasses in the planes permanently because I like polarized outside of flying. But, polarized glasses are just not compatible with today’s cockpits. Even in the best case, you will probably find some reduced brightness of the screens when using polarized glasses. And if you tilt your head at all, it can make some screens go completely blank.
Last year I invested in pairs of bifocal sunglasses. That you showed me that it gets less fun as you get older.

I expect that polarized glasses will have similar problems with the glass panel displays in vehicles for navigation, etc. I haven't tried polarized, but suspect there would be problems since both the primary display and the multi-function display are some form of LCD/LED in my car. Additionally, polarized lenses can filter out the glare that is the
reflection of the sun off another plane causing you to miss traffic
that you might otherwise see. Stick with non-polarized lenses for
flying.

Hi
I use prescription Serengeti sunglasses. The best optics for flying (IMHO)!
Cheers
