Just received a new Polini Thor 250, prop and motor mount. Plan to install on my Firefly. Already have a mount design worked out but it never hurts to get additional input. Anyone here aware of a Kolb with a Polini?

It looks like you will be the first and I for one will be very interested to see pictures/progress. Keep us posted. My partner in the Firefly is also very interested in the Polini.

As a retired professional mechanic who started my career as a motorcycle snowmobile mechanic I can tell the quality of castings and external parts are a work of art. though this does not guarantee mechanical success I have found that most times a company that spends so much time on the small details usually produce exceptional products. I estimate that the Polini will save approximately 25 lbs of installed weight. I purchased the current black crankcase version which is supposed to have improvements to the starter and improved fuel consumption. Time will tell. Unfortunately I have several projects which I must complete before mounting the new engine.
