Guys: Ran over some crushed rock taxiing (It looked like Obsidian or
Flint--Sharp) and blew a main tire. Had to get a new tire and tube.
The tubes sent from Vans have straight valve stems which are hard to get
air in.
Built 2nd RV10 with Matco Wheels and Brakes. They have tubes with
90-degree stems which are hard to get air in (I put 2.5 inch access
plates in the wheel pant when built for airing the tires). Went on line
to look for a workable tube for both the Grove (Vans wheels) and Matco
wheels.
Aircraft Spruce has tubes from $29.35 for Aero Classic to $75.95 for
Good Year. Both are 90-degree stem bent tubes. Wicks has Carlisle
tubes for $33.06 with a 45-degree (TR 87) Part # 320290 bent stems (This
works well). However the same Carlisle 15x6x6 TR 87 Lawn, Garden &
Trailer tubes at the local farm supply store is $9. 69. I change all my
main gear tubes. Easy to air now.
Thought you could use this tip.
