Hi Group I have a Garmin GDL-82 ADS-B that draws .35A typical and .4A maximum. I have a Becker Mode-C transponder that has a 1A switched output. Is there a good reason why I should not use the transponder switched output to power the ADS-B? I don't have an avionics bus. Ron P.

Since the two units work together as a team, it is not an emergency if you lose both.
On the other hand, best practice is to protect each individual load with its own fuse.

Hi User 9253 The switched output of the Becker transponder has a 1 amp fuse. Is that OK? Ron P.

OK then, since the transponder DC output is fused and units are related, I think it is OK to wire them as proposed.
