Hi all,
After 16 years of sevice, our GPS 400 memory battery just died.
All stored data are lost, so no problem preserving them.
It seems the CR 14250 SE (3V) internal battery is soldered onto the
mother board.
According to some sources, replacement is straightforward, except some
ESD precautions are mandatory
https://www.ulimike.de/umhtml/gns_430.html
Has anyone here already performed such a replacement, and could shade
some light on the actual precautions (soldering iron, work table
covering, grounding wrist band, etc.) ?
Thanks in advance for you input, take care

I’ve done a couple of those. It’s pretty straightforward. I don’t recall taking ESD precautions but if I did it again, I would.

Gilles,
I would suggest you use Google Translate to translate the German instructions into English.

Charles and David,
Thank you for responding !
We'll now undertake the battery change with confidence - and some ESD precautions...
Thanks,
